So the latest movie I’ve seen that I really enjoyed is HAPPYTHANKYOUMOREPLEASE. It’s a 2010 comedy-drama film written & directed by Josh Radnor (TED MOSBY from How I Met Your Mother), who also leads the cast which includes: Malin Akerman, Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan, Michael Algieri, Pablo Schreiber, and Tony Hale. It tells the story of a group of young New Yorkers, struggling to balance love, friendship, and their approaching adulthoods.
A story of relationships, this movie deals with the struggles facing several pairs trying to find their way. The film centers on Sam, a writer and Rasheen, a foster care child. The two meet when Rasheen is abandoned on the subway and Sam tries to help him but eventually “keeps” him because he doesn’t know what else to do. Through this story we learn of Sam’s best friend Annie, an Alopecia patient trying to find a reason to be loved, his cousin Mary Catherine and her boyfriend Charlie, a couple facing the prospect of leaving New York, and Mississippi (Mara), a waitress/singer trying to make it in the Big Apple.
This movie does a great job highlighting the struggles of growing up while trying to define the meaning of love…I really enjoyed this movie, more than I expected…I especially enjoyed the interaction between Sam and Rasheen, as they grow from perfect strangers to close friends.
This movie will be released March 4th, 2011.
