One of my comfort foods, besides ice cream and chocolate and cheese and madree b3d shino, is PB & J sandwiches… slap on some peanut butter on one side, jelly on the other, and warm it up on the sandwich grill…if I have bananas lying around, I throw that in the mix..PB & J, PB & J & BANANAS, PB & BANANAS without the J, PB & MELTED CHOCOLATE.. it’s great, I love it, and this is what I’m craving…geez, food why are u so yummy…I tried researching on how it all began, but there’s no real information out there…
Food historians know that both peanut butter and jelly were part of the U.S. military’s rations during World War II. This lead to the speculation that American GIs may have added jelly to the peanut butter to make it easier to eat. A few sources claim that the peanut butter and jelly sandwich itself was on military ration lists. +_O
A 2002 survey showed the average American will have eaten 1,500 of these sandwiches before graduating from high school.
